Shadows in the Basement defy pop standards

Shadows in the Basement classifies their music as orchestral experimental pop. I can describe it in one word: Tranquil. With echoes of 60s progressive and folk rock, these atmospheric songs could easily be the soundtrack of your Sunday afternoon yoga sessions or the music you play after you’ve come home from your Saturday night frolics in your favorite club.

Shadows in the Basement are two passionate composers/producers from Holland – Siddhartha Barnhoorn, an award winning music composer, and Dennis Binnekade, the lead vocalist of The Aurora Project. With an ear towards injecting some serious musical proficiency into the pop music scene, this duo promises an upcoming album that will include live orchestrations and appearances by well know artists in the music industry.

Included in this collection will be Driftwood, a Moody Blues-type tune reminiscent of the 60s classic Nights in White Satin. Mesmerized might bring to mind the sounds of Pink Floyd. Both have multi-layers of instruments and powerful lyrics – two elements some would say are missing from much of today’s music.

You owe it to yourself to check out Shadows in the Basement. And, of course, Scandalouswomen has your hookup below.
