Love Feels. And Grooves

Junior Turner has become a familiar name here at Scandalous! His smooth R&B style, with just a hint of retro ‘wow,’ is always a welcome sound coming from my desk speakers. If his name doesn’t ring a bell, you might want to familiarize your self with his sounds in our other reviews. Based in the UK, he’s garnered a lot of respect among both fans and peers for his philanthropic work with Help for Heroes, a war veteran’s charity. And if you’re a fan of the Motown and Philly sounds of the late 60s and early 70s, you’ll probably agree his music has been pure ear candy.

His new track, Love Feels, is pure 70s love groove, blue lights in the basement stuff. You can almost hear the needle popping on the vinyl as it spins on the turntable. Soulfully he expresses the depth of his love for his woman against the sexy ‘wah wah’ backdrop of  electric guitars a la Billy Paul’s Mrs. Jones from back in the day. Like his other hits before this one, Love Feels sounds like a classic and feels like a classic. The era of music Turner draws his inspiration from is ripe to be rediscovered by today’s music fans and piece like this will surely  help uncover those gold nuggets from the past.

The song is being released on February 28th but we’ve got your sneak peek here.
