Comment Policy

Even though commenting on websites is declining in general, we still get them from time to time – though most people these days share and ‘like’ on social media. Scandalous! is a serious publication of all things related to female sexuality and feminism, specifically third-wave feminism. We are a resource site that provides quality article and stories. One of the ways to improve this resource is having interaction within the site through the use of comments. In order to assure quality, we must have a policy to fight against SPAM and trolls.

While we appreciate each comment, if your comment does not follow our comment policy, it will be removed. Continuous abuse of the policy will result in permanent ban of the IP address, domain, and the email used.

Language and Manners – This blog is written in English, so leave your comments in English. Scandalous! is “female-centric” therefore any comment that includes offensive or inappropriate pejoratives or language considered sexist or rude by our editorial staff will be edited or deleted.

Additionally, because the feminist movement has always been considered progressive, the staff of Scandalous! is generally liberal and will give that perspective on issues that affect women.  If you’re offended by that, you have the right not to participate in discussions.  Scandalous! is a privately-owned web property. If your comments are not approved or deleted based on our policies, this is not censorship or a violation of your First Amendment rights.

Add Value – A comment which does not add to the conversation, runs off on an inappropriate tangent, or kills the conversation may be edited, moved, or deleted.

If you’re a man, understand this is a site for women. We realize the content might attract certain types of guys. This isn’t a place to try and find dates nor is it the place to try to ‘enlighten’ people with the ‘male perspective’ on what we write about. Trust us – we KNOW the male perspective. However, if you have something positive to contribute, we welcome you to the conversation.

All SPAM comments will be deleted because they do not add value to the site.

Limit Links – We love resources as they can be really helpful sometimes, but in order to prevent SPAM and assure quality, we must limit links on the comments. Do not add more than two links in the comment. If you do so, your comment will be added for further review. DO NOT sign your comments with a backlink to your site. They will be removed.

No Personal Attack Comments Permitted – In the interest of fair play, no personal attacks are permitted in this blog’s comments.
